Atlanta Hawks

The Record Projection: 24-58 of fromal The Bet: Under with marginal confidence Try to name the Atlanta Hawks’ five players following the departures of Paul Millsap and Dwight Howard. It is not the simplest of tasks. And that would be OK if the franchise which has made the playoffs each of the previous 10 seasons were filled with talent, as opposed to the current situation that is quite conducive to this dreaded”t” word.
Dennis Schroder is part of the mix, in addition to recently acquired large man Dewayne Dedmon. But who else? Kent Bazemore, Taurean Prince and Ersan Ilyasova? Can Marco Belinelli or Luke Babbitt maintain the mix if they could keep shooting as they did with the Charlotte Hornets and Miami Heat, respectively? Are we already prepared to throw John Collins to the equation?
This Atlanta roster might have some upside, but it is almost completely devoid of established talent. The top pieces have question marks, because Schroder has not functioned as the unquestioned leader of a team, Dedmon has yet to play over 17.5 minutes per game and Bazemore is coming from a disappointing effort.
Talent wins out from the NBA, and the Hawks do not have enough of it–or enough motivation to avoid the bottom of the Eastern Conference–to push toward the 26 wins necessary for the over bet.
